The US Army last week took delivery of Lockheed Martin’s Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) system ground equipment, including the battery operations center, four transporter erector launchers, and modified trucks and trailers. The hardware deliveries began in March, and the I Corps’ 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, and the 17th Field Artillery Brigade will complete fielding the system by fiscal 2023. The truck-mounted missile will reportedly have a range of more than 2,775 kilometers (1,724 miles). Lt. Gen. L. Weapons industry giant Lockheed Martin is once again advertising in Politico’s daily foreign policy newsletter, after taking a brief, unexplained hiatus last month. On August 16, after the sponsorship was the subject of widespread mockery on the internet, Lockheed’s ads were not only scrubbed from the following editions of the National Security Daily, but they also disappeared from all previous editions. But during Lockheed’s advertising hiatus, Politico ran a puff piece about one of its weapons research and development facilities, which the author described as akin to visiting Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Meanwhile, the September 3 edition of Politico’s paid subscription newsletter Morning Defense ran a blurb touting how many jobs Lockheed Martin would be bringing to Johnstown, Pa. “for F-16 manufacturing work.”

23:32 WhatReallyHappened.com Pentagon reveals F-35 Lightning's guns don't shoot straight and are cracking in scathing report that demands Lockheed Martin fix 873 flaws on $100million stealth fighter jet

By KEITH GRIFFITH FOR DAILYMAIL.COM The F-35 Lightning II's problems include hundreds of software vulnerabilities and guns that don't shoot straight, according to a new Pentagon report on issues with Lockheed Martin's $428 billion program. Air Force models of the F-35 use an internally mounted 25mm Gatling gun that has 'unacceptable' accuracy due to 'misalignments,' according to an upcoming report from the Pentagon's test office obtained by Bloomberg. The mounts on the guns are also cracking, forcing the Air Force to restrict use of the gun, the report says. The Marine and Navy versions of the Joint Strike Fighter use an externally mounted version of the gun that does not have the same issues, according to the report.
